Every product we sell is fully compliant with the UK's Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) and Tobacco and Related Products Regulations (TRPR) 2016. Here's what that means for you.
What Is the TPD?
The Tobacco Products Directive is EU-originated legislation (retained in UK law post-Brexit) that sets standards for the manufacture, presentation, and sale of e-cigarettes and e-liquids. The UK implements these regulations through the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, enforced by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
Key TPD Requirements
E-Liquid Volume
Nicotine-containing e-liquids are limited to 10ml bottles. Shortfill (0mg) e-liquids can be sold in larger bottles.
Nicotine Strength
Maximum nicotine concentration of 20mg/ml (2%) for all nicotine-containing e-liquids.
Tank Capacity
Refillable tanks and pods are limited to a maximum capacity of 2ml for nicotine-containing e-liquid.
Labelling
All products carry required health warnings, ingredients lists, nicotine content, and manufacturer details.
MHRA Notification
All products must be notified to the MHRA at least 6 months before being placed on the UK market.
Leak-Free Design
Products must be designed to prevent leakage during normal use and refilling.
Childproof Packaging
E-liquids must be in child-resistant and tamper-evident packaging.
Ingredients
Only approved ingredients may be used. Certain additives (colourants, caffeine, taurine) are prohibited.
